Going with the flow

I am not sure who is learning, the students or the dogs. But another language barrier has been broken and crossed. Julius has "his dog", and his dog has "his boy". I have accepted the fact that Hoagie, my sweet Basset Hound has a new "buddy", Julius.

This is all fine with me as long as I am able to keep my "Pony" better known in the world as Sully, my Extra Large New Foundland. Sully has earned himself extreme special status when he held my two beloved Labbies, (Rupert back in August 08 and Bear this past spring) in his arms trying to keep them warm as they were preparing to pass to rainbow bridge.

Alas, this morning I find myself going with the flow as my "Pony" has decided he wants a "boy" too. Its a good thing and a happy thing. Two weeks ago these boys could have never imagined their lives filled with dogs that have unconditionally, immediately fell in love with them and welcomed them into the pack. I am pretty sure the world could learn a lesson here.

After much consideration on my part, I have decided that a boy can "Never have to many dogs," to love and greet him and a dog can Never have to many boys to love.

Politics and Fido

...a Latin name meaning "I am faithful." As such it is a terrific name for the average protective and loyal family dog. However, it gets its popularity from a celebrity tie-in. Apparently, Abraham Lincoln, a largely self-educated but very erudite man, named his dog Fido. Americans followed suit in droves, putting the dog name Fido firmly in the top 20 names. Lincoln’s choice of Fido for his dog’s name was perfectly logical. Fido is the Latin for faithful, which when dealing with any pet dog is entirely appropriate
