There he sat on his bed by the kitchen sink, crumbs all over his brown and grey muzzle 4 paper cupcake wrappers around him, my Bear. The other dogs standing innocently by, sure they were innocent. Innocent as Bonnies and Clydes holding the bank money. Now we all know that Bear can't jump 4 inches, in fact I had to carry him in at 2 in the morning last night..but another wore the sign of the crime..Zeus, the ultimate counter surfer. He can open cabinets, drawers, doors and packages swiftly and quietly and always shares. So 10 corn muffins later, they were full.
I had made the corn muffins for Bear anyway a sort of doggy birthday cake, it was OK with me that he ate them I just wish they would have made them last longer then 39 minutes.
Dinner tonight was kibble, yogurt and crumbled corn bread, singing and hugging. Tonight my ultimate counter surfer Zeus reminded me as he surfed the muffins, that life is too short to save something for later or tomorrow. So eat and enjoy, and wear your crumbs with a smile. I suppose he also reminded me that if you want something you need to go after it.
