This is a little after the fact. We went to stay at the Hampton Inn in Goldsboro, North Caroline last week. Last minute, I mean we were getting in the car and my wonderful husband said"Would you like to take Fuzzy?" I jumped on it, he went in and called the hotel, and yes they were dog friendly. Well we were off for a 9 hour trip to see my sister with my Pekingese in tow and of course she was wearing the appropriate summer dress, pink with a rhinestone ice cream cone. When we arrived at the Hampton Inn, we were given a beautiful Doggy Gift bag! Which included dog treats, a pet sheet and places and things around town that were dog friendly and of course the names of local groomers in case you needed to get coiffed quickly. Well Fuzzy aka Princess was well behaved at all of the functions we attended and in the hotel as well. And you know what I slept better with one of my dogs at my feet. And do you know what else, there was a walk in shower in our bath room! Yeah Hampton Inn! Somebody really does get it! The staff was great, the rooms were bright and clean and they acknowledged my little Fuzzy. And yes she is wearing a Burgundy taffeta dress with black sequins..aw come on, it was picture with Santa
My life as a mom of two Labradors, a basset hound, a dachsund/basset mix,a newfoundland, a teacup Pekignese, and a wonderful 15 year old son. This is how I survive by laughing, loving and doing laundry. These are my rescues/family and this is my story.

Politics and Fido
...a Latin name meaning "I am faithful." As such it is a terrific name for the average protective and loyal family dog. However, it gets its popularity from a celebrity tie-in. Apparently, Abraham Lincoln, a largely self-educated but very erudite man, named his dog Fido. Americans followed suit in droves, putting the dog name Fido firmly in the top 20 names. Lincoln’s choice of Fido for his dog’s name was perfectly logical. Fido is the Latin for faithful, which when dealing with any pet dog is entirely appropriate
