15 years, blinkies and summer camp

Wow, yesterday was the start of our official honeymoon, you could say. The boys are grown and moved away and Alex is at camp for a week. So technically for the first time we will be alone for more then a night...this should be interesting. Our plans...well Dave will be working out of the house, and me I have gutters to clean, pond to muck out, dogs to brush and that is just this morning. Tomorrow we plan to just hang out as that is our real anniversary. This morning has already started out fun and exciting. Jazz, Hoagie and Sully were playing Blinkies in the Family room and as I yelled "No Blinkies in the house!" Sully slid, remember he is a really big dog into an end table with a crystal lamp, crystal dishes filled with glass stones..David came running to see what happen and found me alone holding my lamp and picking up the glass stones and can you believe nothing broke, yep the dogs had run outside and were happily playing Blinkies. Fuzzy and Rupert just stood there looking at Dave, I know they were thinking "we told you so". Anyway Alex is at Camp, looks like he is miserable..not. Laundry loads Today 5

Politics and Fido

...a Latin name meaning "I am faithful." As such it is a terrific name for the average protective and loyal family dog. However, it gets its popularity from a celebrity tie-in. Apparently, Abraham Lincoln, a largely self-educated but very erudite man, named his dog Fido. Americans followed suit in droves, putting the dog name Fido firmly in the top 20 names. Lincoln’s choice of Fido for his dog’s name was perfectly logical. Fido is the Latin for faithful, which when dealing with any pet dog is entirely appropriate
